I'm 1 today!
In celebration of this momentous occasion, we had Abby, Adrian & Linus over for a celebratory brinner (breakfast-dinner) of waffles, scrambled eggs and bacon. Yum! I also made cupcakes and we let Madeline go to town on half of one (with no frosting). We've already witnessed sugar-induced hyperactivity* and I wasn't prepared to deal with that tonight right before bedtime! She'll get the full sugar treatment at her party in a few weeks when she has the whole afternoon to run off the energy.

*When giving a container of ice cream sprinkles to a child to use as a shaker toy, make sure the screw-top lid is securely in place. Otherwise, be prepared to witness said child shovel the spilled sprinkles into his/her mouth faster than you thought humanly possible.
